Hi friends,
Iβm back from another wonderful press trip, this time to Denver with Altra and Backbone Media. They spoiled us in all the right ways.
Here are a few of the many things they nailed:
F-r-e-e- t-i-m-e. Most of the activities were very close to the hotel, limiting dreaded sprinter van time. They were also very mindful of keeping a herd of writers moving, which protected my beloved free time. I got to see my best friend, another writerβs parents picked her up for an afternoon, and others who were new to Denver had plenty of time to explore the city.
The first night, they nixed the usual four-hour sit-down dinner where you only meet the people youβre seated next to. Instead, they hosted a casual meet-and-greet passed app situation at the hotel. I was back in my room by 7:00 p.m. watching HGTV.
This was for a fitness-forward brand, so of course they kept meals and activities on the healthy side. Walks/runs/hikes, yoga at Red Rocks, sauna, cold plunge, green juices, salads, access to Therabody products. My kind of trip. It made a big difference in how I feel today.
Now Iβm off to Lake Tahoe on Wednesday with Vibram and dble & co. Iβll be climbing mountains instead of checking email, so please spare my inbox your pitches until next week! Feel free to follow along on Instagram.

Now that Iβm well versed in Altra everything, their Experience Flow 2 will be my new go-to for walking and their Experience Wild 2 will come on hikes with me. Theyβre (kinda unbelievably?) lightweight.
If you live with a man (godspeed), may I suggest buying Fulton & Roarkβs Ghost Trees, pretending itβs for him. Then steal spritzes for yourself. Itβs wonderfully woodsy.
